If you’re reading this or considering hiring a professional newborn photographer, you’re likely expecting or recently welcomed a new baby in your life. So first off: Congratulations!
The first few weeks for your growing family is a whirlwind, isn’t it? It’s a time that’s filled with sleepless nights, countless precious memories, and a list of new demands on your time and budget. Most new parents are left wondering if getting professional photographs is worth the time and money that they would be investing. Here are just a few reasons why you should consider hiring a professional newborn photographer to capture those first precious moments of your baby’s life:
Professional photographers have the experience and knowledge necessary to capture stunning, high-quality images of your newborn. We know how to work with lighting, angles, and poses to create beautiful, timeless photographs that you’ll treasure for a lifetime. At Twin Rivers Photography, we specialize in working not only with newborn babies but family members from all stages of life. You’ll be guided through a photoshoot experience that creates wonderful core memories for all of the members of your family.
Newborns are delicate and fragile, and a professional photographer will have the knowledge and experience necessary to safely handle and pose your baby. This will ensure that your baby is comfortable and safe throughout the photo shoot.
Newborns change quickly, and those first few weeks of their lives are a fleeting moment. Unfortunately, those are also some of the most exhausting weeks of your life as a parent, and the days seem to pass in a blur! Hiring a professional photographer will ensure that you have beautiful, high-quality photographs of your newborn before they grow and change too much.
Of course, life often comes at us full speed and I’m here to support you when those unexpected delays come up! While we always aim for taking newborn portraits in the first two weeks of life, unlike other photographers, I never cut my clients off at that window. Coincidentally, some of my favorite “newborn” portraits that I’ve done are of babies who are 3 months old! Even still, older babies of any age are always welcome in our studio. The posing and staging techniques are simply adapted to your baby’s unique stage in life.
When you book your newborn photoshoot with me, all you have to do is simply show up to the studio with your baby! Everything is prepared and ready for your little one’s big day. Prior to your photoshoot, I’ll come to you in the convenience of your home to discuss and plan your dream photoshoot. Your shoot is a custom-curated one of a kind experience that is tailored to your style and preferences. You can skip the hours of scrolling online looking for inspiration pictures, buying outfits and props, and instead enjoy a fun, streamlined design session with me!
Hiring a professional newborn photographer can actually save you money, or at least ensure that you’re getting the most value for your dollars spent. In short: Good photography is not cheap. And newborn photography is one of the most expensive genres to get into.. The professional quality props, wraps, and backdrops that are used in one newborn session can easily approach $1,000, and that’s not counting the camera and lighting equipment. I often have clients who reach out to me after trying to DIY their own newborn photoshoots, only to realize they were about to spent hundreds of dollars for lower quality props and sets that they would only use once.
Our studio is fully stocked with everything you’ll need for your newborn photoshoot. For our clients who truly love nature and the great outdoors, our studio also offers a unique experience to incorporate outdoor scenery into your newborn and family portraits! Check out what makes our studio the perfect location for your next photoshoot.
I always encourage clients to get their whole family in front of the camera during their “newborn” session! After all, you’re not just celebrating your newest addition, but also a unique chapter in every family member’s life. Your little one will want to grow up and see these priceless memories of them with their parents, siblings, and maybe even their grandparents! If you’re anything like the rest of us, I’m betting everyone in your family is overdue for some beautiful portraits. This is the perfect opportunity to make sure you’re capturing memories of everyone you love.
When we think about the value of a photograph, we often see what it would mean to us today. But step forward and picture what these memories will mean to you and your family 10 years from now. How about 25? 50? What will these photos mean to your children when they have children of their own? Imagine your grandchildren looking at these images and seeing you at this age. Heirloom portraits take on new meaning and value as they age. They tell a unique story to every new set of eyes that sees them. And they’re often the last clear memory of moments that are otherwise lost or fade through time.
In summary, if you were to ask me if you should hire a professional photographer for your newborn photos: Of course my answer would be a resounding YES! You will cherish the photographs for a lifetime, and they will become a precious family heirloom that will be passed down for generations to come. I couldn’t think of a better investment than that. And I sincerely hope I can help capture these memories for you!
